Family Getaway at the Lakeway Resort & Spa

Planning family vacations isn’t always the easiest task as a parent, so finding a resort that had lots of activities and fun for the whole family was a must! Last month, me and the family made an impromptu trip through our home state to the Hill Country to visit the luxurious Lakeway Resort and Spa. If there’s one thing I love about Texas, it’s the vast amount of beauty that you witness just while driving there.

The first thing we wanted to do after the journey there was eat. We had the pleasure of dining at TR Restaurant where we feasted on their delicious filet mignon and snacked on the tuna tartare tacos. To top off the night before hitting the hay, we had the most wonderful bread pudding ever! Needless to say it was a meal to remember and my mouth still waters when I think of it.

The Lakeway Resort and Spa is located just south of Dallas near Austin and right on Lake Travis where nearly every room has a great view! When you’re there, you get a sense of peace and relaxation. It was honestly so breathtaking and really made me appreciate how truly beautiful Texas is during the fall.

But while you’re feeling nice and relaxed… there are still a ton of things for everyone to do while there, so let’s start with the kids! Yes, hanging out with family is fun but sometimes kids just need to have fun playing with other kids. And the same goes for adults. Lakeway Resort has so many activities just for them in the Kidzone. So while mom and dad are hanging out by the pool, the kiddos can have their own fun playing putt putt, watching movies, or jumping around in the bounce houses.

The grown-ups can have a lot of fun on their own too. They have not one, not two- but three pools. And the best part about it is there is an adult-only (party) pool where there’s a swim-up bar to have plenty of poolside fun. There’s even a lap pool for those who want to lay quietly and just simply relax by the pool and read a book.

For the ladies that just need a little break from life, or treat themselves to a girls’ day, their spa is where it’s at. So even when it’s fall or winter, you can reward yourself with a mani/pedi, facial, or massage. There are just so many reasons to visit!

Hope to travel more in this new year, and I’m glad I got to kick off my last one at the Lakeway Resort & Spa! Make sure you book your stay for the summer because it is truly beautiful in the Hill Country.
