In a city that has restaurants on every corner, finding one that makes you feel like you’re eating at home with family is just such a treat! From the first bite you take at The Dinner Table to the last bite as you finish up dessert, your tastebuds go through a trip of delicious southern cuisine.
When I walked in, I immediately adored the charm and the eclectic decor. Since I am a lover of all things vintage, I couldn’t help but admire every corner! It was like walking into an antique dream. An antique dream that I could eat in.
I kicked off my meal with fried green tomatoes. They were perfectly crispy and they had a layer of spicy mayo that really complemented the tanginess of the tomato! They were light and a wonderful start to the whole experience.
For my main course, I had a deliciously classic chicken fried steak and boy was it tasty! The flavor of the meat and breading was simply divine. It was slathered in the yummiest gravy, and I was dipping everything in it! What I enjoyed most was the fact that it wasn’t too heavy. The portion was huge and though I couldn’t finish it all, it was the kind of meal that made me wish I had two stomachs. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies, and overall just a great dish! I can see why this is a fan favorite.
By this time I know by this time you’re thinking, ‘She can’t possibly have enough room for dessert!’ but trust me when I say that I could’ve eaten two of these. The bread pudding at The Dinner Table has a little bit of heaven in each bite. The cake is so moist, and surprisingly light. Here’s a hint: they make their bread pudding with croissants, which makes it nice and fluffy. Not to mention it pairs well with their Colombian coffee!
If you want a good meal, with big portions, at a great price, The Dinner Table has all that and more! I just love that there is a place to go that provides a family-friendly environment for any day of the week. They have a variety of southern and American cuisine and an air that’s never uppity, but warm and friendly.
