Walking in Confidence

So the verdict is in and confidence is in and can you guess what’s out? Self-doubt. Living my life and walking in confidence is something that hasn’t come so easy and it’s a continual process for me. I’m sharing these looks in partnership with The Shop Kindred.

When I was younger, I used to wonder who I would become. Would I be a movie star? Would I be in politics? What was I doing here on this planet? You may think I’m kidding, but I really would ask myself these overwhelming, existential questions. Although I still ask the last question pretty often, it’s not as daunting to think about as it used to be.

Walking in confidence starts with walking with purpose. Once I realized that, the question didn’t seem so scary and doors in my life started opening physically, mentally, and spiritually. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t fail. Not everything I’ve done has been an absolute success, and of course I’ve come across people who didn’t have my best interest at heart. But letting go and failing forward is something I try to live by. Because you simply can’t do one without the other.

Another empowering realization I had was when I decided to choose my destiny. I’ve never been one to sit back and say ‘why me?’ when something doesn’t go my way, but before I made a conscious decision to take charge of my life I had been just living day to day and scrambling to see what I should become.

I stopped asking and started doing. And with every decision I made towards my goals or my idea of where I wanted to be, it has opened up more doors than I could’ve imagined and I’ve gone to places I would have never thought to go.

To this day, I try to live my life in a way that I am continuing to try and strive for the end and hold onto my goals.

The Cross My Heart Dress is the perfect little shift dress for any occasion. I sincerely believe that stripes are the new black! The Honeymoon hat complemented it perfectly. The second look I paired a black body suit with the Bailey Shorts and Crescent Necklace as a statement.

So wherever you are in your life, wear your smile proudly and let your confidence shine through!

These looks can be found on The Shop Kindred. Happy shopping and happy soul searching!
