Having your first kid can be scary and shopping for one can be even more daunting. There are so many needs to consider to chose from and products to try out, that it can be overwhelming to even think about what accessories we’ll need. But if I’ve learned one thing, it’s that when you find something you love you stick with it!
. . .
I’m not going to lie, when I started out as a mother I was completely clueless and pretty nervous. There were so many new concepts to grasp and to be honest it had me questioning as to whether or not I was even ready for motherhood. ‘What even qualifies me to be a mom?’ I kept asking myself. And I still ask myself that question when I’m having a bad day.
One of the most challenging experiences though was my breastfeeding journey. With little confidence and time because I was finishing up my degree, I was so worried about switching from bottle to breast feeding all the time. I would have constant fears that my milk supply would just vanish and that I was somehow neglectful for being away for one feeding. Looking back I see how silly that was, and I see that even if it had it wouldn’t have been a huge deal.
Due to popular belief, bottle feeding is not the end of the world. And with August being Breastfeeding Awareness month, it’s so easy to be focused only on one when we as mothers have the one bond: being called mama.
. . .
I am so happy to partner with Munchkin to share their latest and innovative bottle system, Munchkin LATCH. With its bottle nipple that so closely mimics the breast and flow, it is a great gift and tool for all the mamas out there. This month is so important to breastfeeding moms, and it’s great that Munchkin has a line that supports us whether we are breastfeeding or not.
The Sterilizing pouch is such a game changer, and this system is just so much more high tech than I remember in bottle systems. Not to mention the anti-colic valve to help with air bubbles. But what I was most impressed about what how thin the Miracle leak absorbing pads really are! They’re so incredibly thin in comparison to the bulky pads I had while breastfeeding. This system is so great and Munchkin makes it so easy to be your one-stop-shop when it comes to feeding baby and in whatever phase your little is in.
3 Things To Keep In Mind While Feeding Baby:
- Keep Your Cool– feeding can be stressful especially when you’ve got a babe that’s crying for the boob or the bottle. So don’t worry about trying to get things done while feeding because that’s bonding time.
- Take a Breather– every now and then it’s just nice to take a break from the routine of feeding, especially if it’s by breast. With the Munchkin LATCH that mimics the flow of breast milk, it makes the transition between bottle and breast seamless.
- Remember: FED IS BEST– with everyone turning to social media, it may seem like motherhood is some sort of competition to be the best most put together mama, but really we’re all just trying to make it to Friday. The method in which you choose to feed your baby makes no difference.
