Being an adult is all about expectations. You’re expected to be responsible, be polite, etc. But when you’re also a parent, it seems as if those expectations some how get even more emphasis put on them. Ever wonder what it’s like to cut loose with your little one and just have some fun? Today, I’m partnering with JCPenney to share my summer moments.
. . .
Summer is such a special time of year with all the family fun happening around town, but sometimes it’s just nice to relax at the house. If you’ve kept up with me on social media, you’ve seen the highs and lows of my house hunting journey and all the little setbacks of renovating. So now as we’re nearing the end of summer, it just feels so great to be in our own space! Especially after going through months of renovations.
It means so much to me to be able to make new memories in this house with my little family. That’s what I’m most excited for: all the traditions that come from nothing and all the mundane day-to-day activities. Because that’s what life is made up of the most. And aren’t the best moments in life the ones that are spontaneous?
I’m so glad JCPenney has the perfect, most affordable lounge-wear for times we just want to hang out in our pajamas all day! We found a Carter’s pj set for Zara, and a Ambrielle satin chemise set and robe for me. With national brands available to everyone and great deals constantly going on, it makes it #SoWorthIt and so easy for the whole family to grab a little something extra!
3 Ways to Create Your Own Summer Moments:
- Be spontaneous: Put a bunch of events into a jar and draw to see what you and your family should do that day. It may be just as fun coming up with ideas as it is drawing out the activities!
- Be frugal: Not everything has to cost vast amounts of money. I know we’re not the only family trying to get ahead in their savings and family outings don’t necessarily mean you have to shell out loads of cash. Try going for ice cream one day, or head to the park for snack time.
- Live in the moment: Not everything has to be documented. Unfortunately, we live under the assumption that if we didn’t post, tweet, or share it that it never happened. Well, that is most certainly not the case! So put the phone down every now and then and just be.
I’m looking forward to see what all we can still do to make this summer great, but for now I’ll just enjoy hanging out at the house in my pj’s with Zara and pigging out on these donuts.
