. . .
It’s a day every mother dreads: the day their baby becomes a kid and starts school. It’s a day that can bring all sorts of emotions, yet it will happen if it hasn’t already happened to most moms. But that’s just something we all have to learn to accept.
Growing up, back to school season was such a fun time and definitely one of my favorites. I loved the hustle and bustle of parents taking their kids to shop for the theme they wanted in backpacks for the school year and I know this makes me a nerd, but I also loved when we crossed things off the list. It was and still is just a great time of the year! And it’s just so great to have a fresh start before another year of learning. But mostly, I was also pretty excited about the shoes.
All throughout elementary, middle school, and high school I went to a private school and as you can imagine, we wore uniforms. I can still picture it now… the plaid skirts, the khakis, and the polo shirts. So as a young, aspiring fashionista I kind of struggled with the fact that we all had to be the same. And anyone who’s ever had to wear a uniform to school knows the struggle. The struggle to bust out and just be different. There were small ways like wearing a long sleeved shirt under your polo, or tying your sweater around your hips, but really that was it!
And that is where my obsession with shoes was born! Because if you actually wanted to be different, that was the only way. So going back to school shopping for shoes was an event for me, and I’m so glad that as a parent now I can make it one for Zara. And although she’s not running off to school just yet, we can still participate in all the deals that are going on this time of year. And Shoe Carnival has some of the best deals for brand name shoes, which is why we love them!
Not only are they family friendly, but they always have a ton of deals going on. We found these adorable Natural Steps Jasmine Shoes for Zara and I am obsessed! I have been looking for classic, white sandals for her to wear with her rompers and they are the absolute cutest! As for me, I went with the Madden Girl Brando sandals, and I can honestly say that I haven’t taken them off since.
So whether you’re in a private school or public school, Shoe Carnival is there to make sure you stand out above the crowd! They have definitely put the fun back into this season and I can’t wait until we’re actually shopping for Zara’s first day of school! Well, actually I can.
